- 3/4 cup stuffing mix
- 1/4 cup dehydrated chicken
- 1/4 cup dehydrated mixed veggies
- 2 tsp chicken gravy mix
- 1/4 cup instant potatoes (optional)
- 1 cup water (add approx 1/4 cup if using potatoes)
At Home: Place stuffing mix and gravy mix into a small ziploc bag and place inside a freezer bag with chicken and veggies (and optional potatoes).
On The Trail: Heat 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove bag of stuffing/gravy. Place freezer bag with chicken & veggies in koozie/insulated pouch. Carefully add hot water and close bag. Let meal rehydrate for 10-15, kneading occasionally. After 10-15 minutes add stuffing/gravy mix and fluff with spoon.
If you wanted more "real" gravy you would have to make the gravy in a separate step and may need more than 2 tsp. I think this would be nice but, I try to keep things simple.
Notes: If temperature permits you can add butter for an increase in calories.
