First Impressions
The Quick Fire fire starters are light weight, low volume fire starters - Perfect for backpacking. They advertise to be safe indoors (fireplaces) and for food (charcoal starters) - "Ideal for use indoors or outdoors as they burn without giving off any odor, smoke or harmful fumes". Although they do have the CA cancer warning in the fine print. Thank goodness I don't live in CA.
They also claim to have an 8 to 10 minute burn time which I found to be fairly accurate.
Weight: 6 g (1/4 oz)
Size: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
So far I love them. I throw a couple in my pack in case I want/need a fire and can't get one started with just tender. And, if I don't use them, at 6 grams a piece a barely notice them.
The biggest downside I have is that they are not readily available in stores - I have to order through Amazon.
