Land's End 600-Fill Down Vest
I have been wanting a decent down vest for a while now and have not been willing to part with the coin to bring one home. I have a very nice Patagonia down sweater and some times find myself quite worried about it getting damaged. So, when I started looking for a vest I didn't want to have another item that would result in me being heart broken when a hot ember landed on it or a tree snagged it. Nor could I see paying nearly as much for a vest as you can find a jacket for.
If you too have sticker shock from looking at down vest (most averaging north of $100) you are not alone. I have scoured the internet and outlet stores for a decently priced down vest and have come up short. I am hoping I found the answer at Land's End where I was thrilled to find one under $20!
Land's End currently has their 600-fill down vest on sale for $16.99. And, a quick Google search should uncover at least a 15% off promo code to boot!

Understanding that these vests are 600-fill down I don't expect it to be ultra-light and/or compress down like some other pricey brand's 800-900-fill down vests. But, for the price and the intended use, I expect this vest to be a very high value for the price-point.
I have ordered one myself and will post a review once I've had a chance to test it.

Update
I received my Land's End down vest. Here are my initial impressions:
I'll try to give another update after I've had a chance to use it for my intended purpose - backpacking.
- Sizing: I think the sizing is pretty true. I ordered a Large to make sure it wasn't too small and could have gone with a Medium, which is what I would wear most of the time.
- Quality: There are some reviews that comment on the vest not being as pictured on the website (not as "puffy"). While I can see where some would think this way, I don't think it's that far off. Especially after you take the vest out, give it a shake, and allow the down to loft. For me, the amount of loft is just about perfect for my use.
My initial impression is that the quality is as expected. I think it would be fair to say it exceeds the expectations of a sub 20 dollar garment. - Style: Not sure what to say about the style. I bought it for backpacking, not the mall. It's a vest and looks like one.
